Restorative yoga

Gentle, supportive, and therapeutic, restful are just a few words that describe restorative yoga. At its core, restorative yoga is a practice of passive healing. This yoga style is known for its ability to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the “rest and digest” part of your nervous system that helps keep basic functions working as they should.

When the body enters a state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind. The only important aspect required during a restorative yoga practice is to pay attention to the breath and become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise.
